The Great Bustard Project
This should be an interesting insight into the release of great bustards on Salisbury Plain. We are very lucky to have a member of the team to tell us about these amazing birds and their progress so far.

Speyside to Shetland by Paul Hobson
A taster for those going on the group holiday next month and for lovers of birding in Scotland. Wildlife photographer Paul, will cover all the Scottish specialists. His photographs are first class.

Tuesday 24th April 7.30 p.m.
The Woodland Trust and Ancient Woodland by Alan Hunton
Alan will talk about the work of the Woodland Trust and their aims and objectives, including working with other groups such as the RSPB. Lots of good photos and also local relevance. (Please note that the AGM will on 25th September this year, to avoid the clash with the Speyside holiday.)

Tuesday 25th September 7.30 p.m.
AGM followed by "Iceland" by Chrys Mellor
At last we get to hear Chrys’s talk and see her excellent slides from her trip to Iceland. A heavy snowfall cancelled this talk last year. The business of the AGM will precede the meeting and will only take a short time. The usual AGM format of supper and a quiz (or other event) will return in April 2008.

Tuesday 23rd October 7.30 p.m.
Birding the Baja Peninsula by Ian Robinson
This is an area we’ve never had a talk on before. It is very popular as an area where you can both bird and whale watch along the Pacific coast and Ian has photos of both. The peninsula is also known as Baja California, but is in Mexico and stretches south of the US state of California.

Tuesday 27th November 7.30 p.m.
Blacktoft, Bitterns and the Humber Reserves by Ian Higginson
Ian, the RSPB’s Humber Area Development Manager, examines how we can meet the challenge of rising seas on our Humber reserves and look particularly at bitterns and at the famous Blacktoft Sands reserve.
